Irish television history will be made around pm this evening when RTE airs the fifth episode of Normal People. The episode features a sex scene between Connell and Marianne that clocks in around 4 minutes and 40 seconds. Saturday's edition of the Irish Sun claimed this will be the longest sex scene to ever be aired on Irish TV. It features full frontal male nudity. Normal People has been broadly celebrated for its honest and realistic depiction of the sex lives of Irish young adults.
